In recent times Google is updating their search algorithm like a mad scientist and lot of webmasters/internet marketers/ AdSense Publishers are getting hit hard. In the past Classic Templates were considered to more of a search engine friendly than that of Beta Templates. At that time blogger dynamic templates were not available. Classic templates require technical knowledge in html and css to customize but Blogger beta version is very very user friendly as long as customizing is concerned without writing a line of code.

But  if you  fill your page with 60% keyword density,search engines will consider your page to be a pure spam. So do not go beyond the allowable  keyword density. We use 2.5-4%.

This is measure of how much closer your keyword phrases are to each other. closer the better. But you should always follow the way which will help your user to understand your content better.

( h1-h6)  Heading tags are very important. If you put your main keywords inside h1 and h2 tag, your content gets search engine friendly. This is how you need to insert heading tags in blog posts.

Though Google doesn’t give much weight to these tags, still they can help. Big G still give value to meta description tags but does not read meta keyword tags any more. Write an attractive meta description tag so that the CTR increases.

Link relevant pages  internally using keyword rich linking text or anchor text. Internal linking is as good as getting external links. But do not overdo it.

Use alt tag when using images and know more about image optimization.

Use bread crumb navigation system. Using Breadcrumb navigation system is nothing but an assistance to search engines to crawl your blog/site better. Obviously you can submit an xml sitemap. Still proper navigation structure helps a lot.

Be aware of broken links and remove if there is any.

Blog directory submissions : You can get links from  blog directories which will boost up your ranking. Try to be selective in this case.

Article submissions : You can submit articles to article directories like Ezinearticles,  Goarticles to get one way back links.

RSS Directory submissions : Get the feed address from feedburner and submit the RSS feed to RSS directories.

As because all your SEO effort is carried out keeping Google in mind, it’s imperative that you have to build links in a Google friendly way. Officially Google doesn’t want webmasters to build any link in order to boost the rank of any website or a specific webpage. But you still can build links following the below

i) Vary Your Anchor Text

iv) try to build links from relevant sites

v) Don’t buy links

vi) Try to get links rather than building links
